You know this but most Democracies that have elected female leaders have elected them through a parliamentary system not open popular vote. American men will not support a female candidate in overwhelming numbers.

I understand your point about GHWB having an incredibly great resume for POTUS. It was. He got the job. Failed and was voted out. His own party knifed him worse than the D’s. Ross Perot was unhelpful.
