Hey i don’t know you but I follow you on here for the nerdy stuff and saw these posts, what’s been going on?

As a psychological thriller enthusiast, this one is very underrated. A novel role for Robin Williams but displays his versatility

Well, the former is necessary for the latter

The beauty of philosophy, though, is that it can analyze anything. In fact, implicit in this statement is a question that requires argument and conceptual analysis. Does philosophy, to have intellectual validity, need biology? Also, philosophy of biology exists and is active.

Any data regarding its acute severity compared to other variants? Or are hospitalizations relatively consistent as this strain becomes more prominent ?

Which is to say, among illnesses generally, ME is in a rare subset worsened as opposed to benefited by exercise. Not that ME itself is particularly rare in terms of prevalence.
November 15, 2024 at 5:50 PM
This is true, though there is sufficient background evidence attesting to the directly beneficial effects of exercise. Correlative results must be contextualized with other data to make a plausible causal inference. ME is a very particular phenotype that is worsened by exercise, but that's rare

On a serious note, arguably you and chris were more keen than others to point out the problematic personality characteristics that would predispose them to occupy the position they now do. That was a lot of p's haha

You forgot to eliminate the grains category and replace it with anti-parasitic supplements so as to avoid those creepy neurologic crawlers
November 15, 2024 at 2:19 AM
You should start a grievance campaign with chris, Matt, wherein you argue that your predictions and analysis of the gurusphere have been ignored. With your statistical acumen, you alone prognosticated the statistical probability of Musk's rise but were IGNORED by mainstream

Great, so what’s your email so I can send you my theory of everything? (jk jk)😂. Seriously though, what x exchange would end in productive agreement. It’s like the essence here is different
November 14, 2024 at 10:10 PM
It’s worth noting too that this does not depend on a naive scientific realism. I am a structuralist w/ respect to scientific modeling, hence the emphasis on prediction and explaining behavior

Theories are like maps, reality is the territory. It’s okay that a map is limited, so long as you can approximately navigate a delimited terrain, but it’d be better if you could navigate more, if that’s your aim. Again, it’s an epistemic aspiration, independent of whether it’s cognitively possible.
November 14, 2024 at 10:03 PM
But of course they’re ostensibly describing the same reality, so their predictive scope should be consistent or one or both is limited. It’s okay for a theory to be limited, but it’s more of an epistemic aspiration that we should strive towards, to have the most accurate view.

So both? In the philosophical case one might object to the possibility conditions, but in physics there is a much more strict definition which is just unifying relativity and the standard model/ quantum field theory. Which is a fruitful and necessary project
November 14, 2024 at 9:08 PM
How are you defining a theory of everything? Theoretical physics definition or a more broad philosophical account of things
November 14, 2024 at 7:33 PM
This does not nullify the need for the holistic approach that you’ve called for, totally on board with that project. Just relevant additional context 👍🏻

There are other data showing that individuals predisposed to schizophrenia are more likely to seek out substances (cannabis, psychedelics, etc.) before onset of psychosis and in prodrome phase. Just relevant data to shed light on unclear causation here. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...
