Let’s look out for each other this holiday. Do your part so everyone gets home safe. And after you wake up from the festivities, go support Portland’s incredible small businesses on Saturday!

In advance of the holiday, @portlandpolice.bsky.social partnered with multiple agencies across the metro area to promote safe travel through a combination of traffic safety resources and enforcement united to enhance safe driving behaviors and prevent traffic deaths and serious injuries.

Last year, five people were killed in traffic crashes in Portland over the four-day Thanksgiving holiday.

Traffic deaths are unacceptable. We can and must do better.

Between 2019 and 2023, 70% of Portland’s deadly crashes involved alcohol and/or drug impairment. In that time, we lost 206 family members, friends, loved ones, and neighbors.

- Watch for people walking, biking, and rolling — they’re more vulnerable in a crash.
- Slow down. Lower speeds save lives.
November 25, 2025 at 9:15 PM
- Drive sober and alert.
- If you plan to drink alcohol or use other intoxicants, arrange for a sober driver, request a ride-hailing service or taxi, or take transit (buses, MAX, and Streetcar will run on Sunday schedules).

Just like you plan how you’ll cook your turkey or choose between pumpkin pie and pecan pie (we agree: both), take a moment to plan how you and your loved ones will get home safely.

Thanks for flagging this. Our Temporary Street Use team is aware. They issued a production company this permit for three days of filming. The No Parking sign is for Nov. 21 and Nov. 26, not the entire week. Sounds like filming has been delayed though, so these signs will be removed for now.
