An AI scribe could mitigate the biases I mentioned. Algorithmic bias due to inequities embodied in the training data is a different problem.

Because AI won't dismiss and fail to record complaints due to bias (women, people with mental health issues) or guild interests. I once told a telehealth doc that my eye was scratched at an eye doctor's appointment, and he omitted that from the session notes, writing that the cause was unknown.

Yes, I get that’s why they sponsor troll accounts. But how are poor people in non-English-speaking countries coming up with culturally convincing MAGA content? I just don’t get that map.
November 23, 2025 at 8:19 PM
This map just doesn’t make sense to me. Someone goes to the trouble of seeding convincing MAGA content through enough accounts in Chad and Niger to turn them red? Why would you bother?

Thanks for this thorough and substantive rebuttal. As a data scientist, suggest citing "hazard ratio" rather than "rate": "Children who received MMR vaccine had an autism [hazard ratio] of 0.93 compared to unvaccinated children" and "autism [hazard ratio] was 0.93 per milligram of aluminum".

It’s time for the opponents of authoritarianism to split off from the Democrats and create a new party.

I wonder if Musk or Bezos have their eyes on getting a government contract to replace this work.

Instead of asking the court to make a declaration, would it be a better strategy for Dems to have a Mbr of Congress swear in Grijalva and then submit the Epstein petition? Wouldn’t that put Johnson on the back foot, both legally and in the news cycle? B/c she would have met the Constitutional reqs.

Yes, “great progress”. Trump selected a Russian-inspired filigree for the new White House ballroom.

There are obvious Britishisms in the style, but the quoted excerpt actually contains some fairly sober analysis. Judging by this one snippet, I’d say the new style is an improvement. Who wants anything American these days, anyway.

Throw in another $50 for NEOTENY.

I couldn’t get a clear picture of how Caplan views Roberts’ motivation for expanding executive power. He seemed to imply that Roberts may simply not have anticipated how Trump v US would lead to presidential corruption and lawlessness. That interpretation is hard to swallow.

In other words, must be Tuesday.

My first question when the news broke was: how many of the 450 arrested would eventually turn out to have valid visas? Probably all of them is my guess. Hyundai’s not a mom and pop operation.

“Abir’s murder could have led me down the easy path of hatred and vengeance. But for me there was no return from dialogue and nonviolence...it was one Israeli soldier who shot my daughter, but one hundred former Israeli soldiers who built a garden in her name at the school where she was murdered.”

I'm a PA voter who switched from Democrat to Independent this year. I'll never vote for a Republican at the national level, but I've lost faith in the Democrats' ability to counter the rise of fascism, as a party. And don't get me started on Fetterman.

I saw this picture on reddit. What a great idea! I made a donation to the group.

Any time Trump mentions a universal principle, you need to parse it through the "rules for thee but not for me" filter. Where "me" includes Trump himself and whomever he considers among his vassals at that particular moment.

I read Rep. Carsten’s entire statement before replying. You’re obviously a bot or a troll.

Too much pontificating, Rep. Casten. Not enough fighting.
