This is activist Elin Wägner in front of the 351,454 signatures required to adopt women’s voting rights in Sweden’s general elections – finalized in 1921. This was later than Finland (1906), Norway (1913) and Denmark (1915).

Tangible signatures really served to highlight immense efforts.
