I wrote loads of examples for Clientele. All of them can be copy/pasted and will work. Includes simple GET/POST, data validation, configuration, response parsing, async examples, custom headers, error handling.

Expect to see much much more of this going forward. I actually feel sorry for students right now. The temptation to be lazy and shortcut their studies will mean they will nothing of value.

I've shipped the beta of my new Python API Client library.

✨ Write API clients as quickly as you write API servers ✨

A good explanation of how we could be entering the "industrial age of software" and how it could actually benefit hand-coded software over time.

This book is a big reason for me rediscovering my passion for programming. Tim’s enthusiastic and optimistic mindset about technology and the potential of it is infectious. I realised so many times in my own life how similar my thoughts have been. I’m a huge fan.

It’s an inspiring book - read it.

Clientele can generate a fully typed HTTP client in Python and then load it in explorer mode so you can debug and test the API through a REPL.

You can do this right now with any OpenAPI service like PokeAPI.co

clientele explore -u raw.githubusercontent.com/PokeAPI/poke...

Hey #python devs.

I’ve spent most of this year planning and building my ultimate API client library for OpenAPI.

I’ve got it to version 1.0.0 and I’d love for you to try it out.

phalt.github.io/clientele/

It’s the result of years of experience dealing with #API integrations.

Enjoy!

I love starting a new old game. Flicking through the manual, smelling the case, watching the intro cutscenes. We had it so good.

In love with the Vagrant Story aesthetic. I believe if it was remastered it would lose a lot of charm. The PS1 graphics really enhance the style.

Snagged some Streetpass, a very DS game - Chrono Trigger, and another 3DS title for my collection.

Fun little quote from an article about the Pokemon craze from November 1999.

3DS day 24: doing Magnemite coil trades daily to build my join avenue in BW2. And I got my own Magnemite back from a week ago!

3DS day 22 & 23: pretty busy with work so only managed to get my 3rd gym badge in Pokemon BW2 and catch the train going by in acnl. The gyms in Gen 5 are so cool.

Day 21 of 3DS everyday in 2025.

I have nearly all the puzzles in Streetpass. I think the maximum you can get on an account is 1878 which means I have one 15 piece puzzle left to collect. Then I just have to finish them all.

A few additions to the 3DS collection.

Day 20 of 3DS everyday in 2025. I expanded the museum in my ACNL town :)

Day 18 of 3DS everyday. Is this not the absolute best gym ever in a Pokemon game? Actual voices in the music too.

Day 17 of 3DS everyday 2025. And I have officially completed my run of Pokemon Black. The final Elite 4 was pretty tough but it was a nice challenge.

My Lucario from Sinnoh delivered the final blow.

#3DS everyday day 16: It's not just #pokemon and #acnl I'm playing. Also working my way through the incredible Bravely Default. Great art, great characters, great story. Love the battle mechanics too.

#3DS everyday day 15. This is a special one. I have completed the Unova Pokédex! Here are some photos of the diploma.

Next goal: the final E4 battle.
