I agree. I remember Mr. Obama actually going to the Hill to meet Boehner, a gentleman's gesture wasted on a churl who was never a gentleman. ACA has saved countless lives, no doubt. But it was never enough as we all agree. Too many kill switches.

And the equally $$$ vested Democrats barfed out the tepid, inadequate, fragile, and divisive Affordable Care Act instead of universal, single payer. A fairly simple thing by adopting #MedicareForAll...but my illness is a billionaire's investment portfolio. Praise Jesus?

You make an important point. We can resist this regime wholeheartedly, but if we lose our heart in the process, the fascists have won. We can defeat them by matching their violence--then they win, or we can end fascism as concept/practice by building a society based on compassion and not on greed.

I found Draft2Digital helpful, with distribution through many affiliated small presses (e.g. Smashwords). Still an upward slog, but an azn ranking of #15285 is worse than keeping the MS in your sock drawer.
