That‘s awesome! Have never had issues with a corrupted project myself, but I imagine this is super useful for people that have run into this.
Really appreciate that you go above and beyond to build stuff like this!

If it means more expensive games, less online & live service games (that people want more of), then yes, it is the customer‘s problem as well.

Companies won‘t start going through all these insane hurdles. That‘s what I‘m saying. Maybe the 'buy' button will say 'license' in the future or something.
I think while this whole idea of preserving games sounds decent on paper, it just doesn’t work.

And there are some games where this is just not going to be possible.
How do you distribute it? How do you obfuscate it if it‘s written in an interpreted language? What about IPs and so on.
The ideal scenario for this would be that it‘ll become more clearly labelled when you buy or license a game.

Unmaintained software will become harder and harder to run and you can't 'maintain' binary files.
Many servers for games rely on proprietary, oftentimes licensed software – who‘s going to pay for that? And what about patented parts of it?
Not to mention, companies would have to provide docs etc.

Companies that sell limited licenses to their games should not be forced to maintain them or make them work offline.
As a consumer, you can buy games that fully work offline and may avoid games that don‘t🤷♂️
But, I‘m against passing legislation that limits the ways that studios can create games.

I have been seeing a lot a about this conflict (and of course, Gaza), and it‘s absolutely horrible and inexcusable.
With Iran, it‘s important to not only look at what happened in the last week, but the last 40+ years to understand what‘s going on here.

Source? Iran literally states that they want to destroy Israel in their constitution. I‘m not a fan of any autocrat – by no means am I defending Netanyahu – but I think it‘s safe to say that Iran is the aggressor here.

While Israel attacked first, Iran is the one that voiced numerous times that it‘s their goal to destroy Israel.
They are the ones building a nuclear arsenal, even though they signed a contract saying that they would not.
