Jack of some trades, master of none: public health, epi and genetics mainly. Arsenal supporter, hiker. Live in LA. If home is also where the heart is England, South Africa, Papua New Guinea. Photos are my own. Views expressed are my own.

#T20I #cricket. Astonishing score by England in the T20 leaving South Africa 305 to win. If SA were to score 6, 0, 4, 0 40 the run rate required ball by ball would look like the black line. The blue is the SA response to date (with 5 wickets
down).

2/n The main result is based on Fig 2. Almost all the reduction occurs in the first 6 months. It seems implausible that the association is a causal one. The PH assumption in the Cox regression presumably violated.

The January 2025 wildfires in Los Angeles were disastrous. The sunrise over downtown on the morning after the fires started was suitably apocalyptic.

Two very, very good dogs. The fact that I am eating peanut butter toast is pure coincidence.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

The Tour de France is starting today. This is a photo I took in Cambridge in 2014, luckily getting the eventual winner, Vincenzo Nibali, as he flashed past.

Dartmouth to Plymouth day four. Rupert limping too much to walk.

Dartmouth to Plymouth day three: curtailed after 16 km because Rupert the dog has a nasty cut on paw (sustained on d1 but now he's struggling even with a bandage on). Lucky we have Zulu mama expertise!
