"We also want to work with others to form a left front to give people a clear governmental alternative to FF and FG rule at the next possible opportunity."
We need to learn the lessons from #GE24.

Paul Murphy: Clearly, the Irish left needs to unite once and for all ahead of future elections
A week on from General Election 2024, the People Before Profit TD looks at the fragmented left and asks what it can do to change politics in the future.

FG, FF, SF and II all vote to give €100 million of public money to the horse and greyhound racing industry.

That's three times more money than the core funding for all our sports!

€20 million is going to the cruel greyhound racing industry.

Shameful.

The landlord parties (FG, FF and Independent Ireland) have just voted to leave renters in the cold.

They have blocked our Bill to introduce minimum BER standards in the rental sector to stop renters being left in cold, damp and mouldy homes.

Look who came in for a visit✊

They wont silence Bob Vylan, and they won't silence the movement around the world against genocide, apartheid, and imperialism!

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free🇵🇸

Reject the 'Uberisation' of our taxis!
Don't support this race to the bottom!

The government must establish a publicly owned, not-for-profit app operated by the NTA, mandated to protect taxi drivers’ incomes and to protect customers against Uber's surge pricing.

This is a scandalous attack on Council and HAP tenants during a cost of living crisis.

Shame on FF/FG/LP/GP Councillors for increasing rents.

The same will now be tried in other Councils. It must be resisted.

Stop the uberisation of taxis! Don't let them pull us in yet another race to the bottom.

Taxi drivers have a simple solution - they need a 'not-for-profit' taxi app from the NTA.

Uber uses surge pricing and charge people more when it’s busy. They give drivers and customers less control.
Paul Murphy TD calls for 'not-for-profit' taxi app from NTA to fight 'Uberisation' of sector
It comes after taxi drivers staged a large protest in Dublin earlier this month.

Council tenants and HAP tenants must organise to defeat this rent hike!

Join CATU, stand with your neighbours, and revive the spirit of the 1970s rent strike: “No way, we won’t pay.”

Thanks to Foróige to inviting me to join them for Oíche na hÓige last Friday.

Incredible work is being done with young people in our area. If you're a young person, feel free to drop into the Big Picture Youth Cafe and find out more!

A country with a housing shortage needs homes, not landlords.

Landlords of parasitical, draining wealth from renters and the state.

This morning, NARA (the National Animal Rights Association) held a harrowing press conference to present their investigation into turkey farming. They've discovered some truly shocking conditions.

Join our public meeting in Dublin South West this week.

Please help spread the word by sharing.

Former FG TD John Deasy giving the game away.

This is the plan of FF/FG on immigration - use it to distract from their failures on housing.

Don't let them. Don't be distracted.

They're the reason there are 16,000+ homeless now, and why it will continue to get even worse.

So many are faced with choice of heating or eating this winter.

Govt is currently planning to vote down a Bill for rented properties to have minimum BER standards by 2030.

They put landlords before renters and climate.

Join the protest today against Dublin City Council's attempt to hike rents for Council and HAP tenants. This will push many people over the edge.

If they get away with it in Dublin City, expect the same in South Dublin and across the country.

A sunny day for dropping Cllr. Kay Keane's newsletter in Cushlawn.

We have to build on the success of the Connolly campaign to demand action on housing, cost of living and defence of neutrality.

We need to kick FF/FG out and have a Left government to put people before profit.
November 22, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Good crowd outside Dáil to demand that government keeps its election promises, follows international law and the advice of the Foreign Affairs Committee and what has just been passed by the Dáil:

Stop trade in goods and services with the illegal Israeli settlements in Palestine.
November 19, 2025 at 6:35 PM
I wrote an article for the Irish Times outlining how the rule of FF/FG can finally be ended.

We need to come together on the basis of demanding the right to a home, action on the cost of living crisis, disability justice, a NHS, just climate action and defence of our neutrality.

People Before Profit are using our time in the Dáil to demand the Occupied Territories Bill is passed in full, including services.

The motion is co-sponsored by PBP, Solidarity, Sinn Féin the Soc Dems, Labour, Greens, 100% Redress and Independents.

Join the protest Wednesday.

On the march for climate justice.

The Taoiseach talks the talk in Brazil and then comes home and continues to put Big Tech, Big Oil and Big Agribusiness before people and planet.

We need ecosocialist change to radically improve people's lives and avoid climate catastrophe.
November 15, 2025 at 2:04 PM
No more delays. No more excuses.

A full ban on trade with the illegal settlements is the very least we should be doing.

Ireland has a proud history of resisting empire and standing up to colonialism - we must not continue the complicity that this government is happy to ignore.

There can be no climate justice without social justice.

We're slipping deeper into a barbaric world that concentrates even more wealth into the hands of the biggest polluting billionaires and corporations.
It doesn't have to be like this, but we'lll have to take back power from tthem!
November 14, 2025 at 3:01 PM
People Before Profit are using our time in the Dáil next week to propose a joint motion with left parties to demand implementation of the Occupied Territories Bill including goods and services by Christmas.

The time for delay and watering down is over.

It's time for action.

Government's housing plan is an admission of failure in advance.

The policy of stuffing increasingly more money into the pockets of private developers and corporate landlords will continue to fail.

We need a State Construction Company to cut out the profiteering and directly build public housing.
November 14, 2025 at 11:16 AM
FF-FG are "prisoners of an ideology".

The latest today is just yet another neoliberal giveaway to developers.

The housing crisis will continue to get worse as the government continues to try and "incentivise" developers more.

We need a State Construction Company.

Have a look at Micheál Martin scrambling.

He doesn't like his gross hypocrisy called out.

He wants to bring in dirty fracked gas.

Speaking out of one side of his mouth at #COP30, and back to usual when he's home.

We have to be clear about the truth in the face of government spin.
Disabled people have been made poorer by about €1400.
Don't be fooled. It's a political choice to make people struggle more this year.
