I think if I met him I'd want to have a shower immediately afterwards.

I was about to say the same thing!

I lent a book to a musical director I worked with on a G&S production and the dust jacket came back damaged. I've never lent a book to anyone since. I like my books to look unread (even though they have been, repeatedly in most cases).

There are several books about the sisters, all very interesting. Nancy wrote some really good stuff, but sometimes people fail to spot any irony or tongue-in-cheek.

Nancy had a very brief flirtation with fascism but then became horrified with it and deplored Unity and Diana's politics. So, a sort of even split between the three sisters - three fascists, three non-fascists.

Amazed her choice of book wasn't Mein Kampf.

Their mother was the main reason that Unity and Diana were fascists and Pamela an anti-Semite. Their father eventually left because of his wife's facism. Jessica (communist sister) cut Diana out of her life. Deborah seemed the most apolitical but later joined the SDP.

I think we need to get a trophy for the first prize. Shaped as a spanner, obviously.

Just come up with this in five minutes as my entry. It's a belter...

There once was a poet called Anna
Who had a peculiar manner;
Whenever she wrote
She'd ride on a goat
And undo its horns with a spanner.

That's my favourite Abba track along with One Of Us. I quote that line on my Facebook page every new year's eve.

Bother. We're back in Gloucestershire that weekend or I'd have been there like a shot. I do enjoy Salieri.

I enjoy KB's version. Del Toro's not so much.

Oh I used to programme cult and classic films at my theatre until 2022. If I still did, you'd be on!
