Sounds like more of a degenerative injury, as opposed to "this happened, and he got hurt." Makes sense considering he was hurt in the preseason, then ready to kick, then hurt again. Hopefully the surgery can correct and he has some career left.

Considering he was deemed healthy enough to kick in a preseason game, but then immediately shut down, I've feared his injury was serious. Prater has been mostly solid, but Bass makes a nice salary and is their guy.
