Good idea! So far I've been pretty successful with the same method I've been using for stinkbugs. If I can't reach them, I knock them down with a 6 foot long duster, then vacuum them up with a handheld vac and take that outside and empty it into a bucket of soapy water.

Oh that's a relief bc I was already thinking up excuses for you to reschedule

Exactly. And by telling him all that matters is what he's good at, wait until he has to work at anything--he won't be prepared. Wait until there's something in math that's hard, he'll feel like a failure b/c that's what he was supposed to be "good" at and his self-worth depends on that.

I definitely recommend that book! It is so hard to differentiate them. There's an expert in my area who came out and looked at lichens around our meadow and told me that one small rock outcropping had 35 different species on it. Amazing.

Yes, there are a crazy number of species! I'm no good at telling them apart either. Have you seen the book Lichens of North America? Its a door stopper with incredible photos, and I think it says that there are over 3500 species of lichen that have been identified…many more that haven't.

I just saw some of this in Joshua Tree National Park!
