Infopro, currently working on an NHS EPR, but this is mostly music, theatre, arts, Sheffield, cats & a bit of leftish politics...

Also, @Sheffiness on IG for anyone who likes fuzzy phone gig pics
One gimmick I've hated for years is the 'colourisation' of black and white footage. It's just not necessary. As you point out - our brains are pretty good at making the leap across time. This, however, is so much worse, and access through a broadcast medium is essentially normalising poorer quality.

I'm with you on the pud, but can't abide meringue. This year we'll be having tiramisu

I suspect she's one of those artists who might be appreciated more live than on record.

I saw Iona Zajac supporting Alison Moyet earlier this year. Really enjoyed her set.

Richard Hawley. Probably Sheffield's finest songwriter, ever. I didn't get to see him play live until I moved to the city, but have seen him many times since...

First time at The Greystones (my local pub), a few times at The Leadmill (inc. one of the closing gigs), others... next time at City Hall.

Françoiz Breut. I had never heard of her, but loved her name. The gig was at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. She was... French (that much I knew), avant-garde, captivating, with a gorgeous voice, and some beautiful melodies. I still adore her first album, bought at the gig...

Amy Winehouse, needs no introduction. The first of the 3 gigs was at The Cockpit in Leeds on the Frank album tour. Incredible, uber-talented and charismatic artist, backed by some superb veteran jazz musicians. One of the best ever...

Red Wedge, 1980s socialist collective movement of left-leaning artists. Political, anti-Thatcher, and in 1986, electioneering for Labour at the GE (my first vote). I went to the Coventry gig, and The Beat played, amongst others.

Kinnock went on to hold a rally in Sheffield... it didn't end well.

Japan at Leicester De Monfort Hall, their final tour, my first gig. I was in lower 6th form. A coach trip from Lincoln was required. I went with my friend Sid (female). I can remember what I wore...

Only a day away from the Stevie Wonder anniversary. I don't know this one. Will look it up.
