This example inspired me to explore icon sizing through variables, which will significantly reduce the number of icons in our icon set.

Some of my key reasons:
1. Quickly find and bulk edit named layers/frames via search
2. Figma preserves component instance overrides when swapping instances with matching-named layers
3. It improves developer hand-off and design consistency

It depends on the type of work you do, though.
