It was a very active mid-afternoon with a few short-eared owls hunting over a grassland area. This one made a catch and sat on it as it checked for any approaching threats... other owls and hawks.

Lake Winnebago provides some great fishing for nesting ospreys in the area during the summer months. This is one of the rare times that I was able to get some shots of one making a catch.

Ruby-throated hummingbird zoomed in and started feeding on red-clover nectar while I was watching for other birds. There wasn't time to switch to video, I just took as many burst shots as possible until it flew away.
