Made a few bowls today. Also trimmed my pieces from last week that are mostly dry (greenware) and the third photo is of my first three pieces after they were fired (bisqueware).

Played with polymer clay and made a beaded stretch bracelet last night.

The green and blue nuggets are beads and I’m planning to make two necklaces with the beads in the middle and chain extending up. What is the consensus on how to finish/seal polymer clay for wearing against skin? Please advise!

An upside down box that held bananas is on the ground by the curb. It has two circular holes and a rounded triangular hole below them making it look like it has a face.

Used a slab roller and made a trinket tray as well as three bowls using two different molds. Trimmed my three pieces from last week too.

Watercolor + gilding play!

A watercolor painting depicting corals, seaweed, a rocky ledge, and some abstract fish. There are copper gilding flakes in the water and a variety of gilding flakes in the rocky wall on the left, as well as in clusters towards the bottom. Same image as the previous one, but taken so that the paper fills almost the whole frame. The lighting is different and some flecks of gilding are reflecting light.

My blue monochromatic piece for the Children’s Museum in progress. Having a great deal of difficulty deciding which elements should stay and where they should go. I’m considering including other new and/or older cyanotypes and monoprints too… as well as other objects and blue Model Magic!

I made this fused glass rainbow at Pittsburgh Glass Center @pghglasscenter . Manny built the shadowbox frame for it using the dimensions I gave and I painted it and put a wire on the back. I’ll be installing this in my Silver Apple Gallery show this afternoon! Show ends Sunday March 30th at 4:00.

Low contrast cyanotype from 2023 that I added white acrylic ink to last month and showed at Spinning Plate Gallery. Currently in the process of going over all the white with light blue Posca. I’m going to cut this up and use it in my blue monochromatic piece for the Children’s Museum.

Today was the last class of Intro to Screenprinting at Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media. I’m definitely considering taking the intermediate class in the future and doing some printing on my own.

Yesterday at Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media I screenprinted my first multilayered prints! I also had fun using up the leftover ink by spreading it around via squeegee, spatulas, and my fingers. The hippo is a figurine with a bobble head on a shelf at my karate dojo, Isshinryu Karate Academy.

A small vintage chalkboard with the numbers 1-0 across the top and the alphabet around the other sides. The black background was painted with white gesso and scratched into with many small lines. Seven white shapes made of reused/reclaimed plywood painted with gesso. A folder with a layer of brown acrylic mixed into coarse molding paste and gesso over top. The brown shows through in some areas.
