List making is widespread, from mechanics to academics, psychiatrists saying everything from it's stress relieving to OCD/autistic.
I've always done it (less now). The only lists in my life currently are 100 fave books and a glossary of archaic words (writing reference for fantasy stories).

I drive for a living which doesn't require a ton of brainpower so I spend a lot of time on "lists".
