James was a trailblazer, and was the first Black New Yorker to win elected office as a judge in New York State.

In 1870, he became the first Black New Yorker and Albanian to graduate from Albany Law School.

🛑 Remember to stop completely for school buses dropping off and picking up students. Slow down in school zones and help all of our kids get to and from school safely.

📲 All schools are implementing bell-to-bell cell phones under new state policy, helping students and teachers return to learning in our classrooms. Check with your district to see how they are implementing this and talk with your kids about what it’ll mean for day-to-day communication.
