Looks like median compressed HTML size is ~36K (75th percentile around 75k): httparchive.org/reports/page...
Could pull the uncompressed size from bigquery but figuring ~10:1, 360-750k so, yeah, 2MB is a lot.
Wouldn't be surprised if there is an inline base64-encoded font or images in there.

My whole family got our first pairs at the shoe store in Disney Springs before a 5-day trip where our son decided only to bring cowboy boots 😂. Happiest accidental discovery ever.
