Every December I say no more Christmas decorations. So I did that again this week and now the neighborhood kids are showing up to have their picture taken with Santa Claus. Never again, promise

The red wing blackbird nests on the ground in wetlands. I have seen a decrease in the basin behind my house in the past ten years. The County of Santa Barbara mowed and deliberately killed one year's flock in 2017 and they have not recovered yet. I hope Calif Fish & Wildlife can protect them.

By 1955 all of them were dead, 1 unkown, 2 drunk driving autos, 1 drunk driving speedboat, Harry hung himself in the front yard. More...

Driving around France one Sunday, looking for a place for the dog and found this out in the fields. I assume it is maintained by our Veterans' Cemetery department. The tank was on the highway in a village. All near Ramstein, in France. WW1 and WW2

Found it. Jack Ross, Jack's Hole in the Wall Liquor. On 101, the store was about 20' wide, Spanish Am War vet & Elmer about 1942, WW2. It was Moonlight Beach, a snack stand with Big Daddy candy, no CA state, 1-lifeguard. Night time grunion runs.

In small town California, those things provide shade for the Autos. they park under them, which saves a lot of damage and provides electricity. The county of Santa Barbara has done this in Santa Maria. It's a done deal here. I'll go take a picture for you from my front door. California, USA.
