are you using a third party client to write your posts? I have seen several of them that have the handle links in the wrong spot and pointing to @vite.bsky.dev instead of @vite.dev

Thanks for the option to hide verification badges. To me there is value on exploring multiple signals for verification, but the verified badges are quite noisy on timelines. I would prefer an option to keep the badge on profile descriptions and on hover, instead of disabling them everywhere though.

they didn't make it look that hard, but they worked quite a lot on them :)

I'll be at @viteconf.org in Amsterdam Oct 9 and 10! It still feels unreal that the JSWorld team is organizing the conference in person this year. So much of Vite's story happened at the Theater Amsterdam venue. See you there if you can make it! Info at viteconf.org

There were ~150 issues at that point, and Evan was right. We got a LOT of new users. The issues peaked at ~800 a year later when @bluwy.me decided it was enough and started an issues squashing sprint that got us to ~400 in a few months. And Vite stayed at that level until the end of times.

I have this one next to me in my office, and it always reminds me about the ways technology evolves and what is lost between iterations. You couldn't type as fast, but you could swap the font cylinder to different styles and languages (with matching letters board). The original point and click.

We're almost there for vite v6 to overtake v5 on weekly npm downloads. Vite v4 is slowly going down, but still has 2M weekly downloads.

Repeating the CTA: if you are using Vite v4, you need to upgrade during the next month to keep receiving security patches.

Reading some kids books in the dark is a great reminder of how high a11y should be in our priorities. Interesting in this one, there are some pages where they switched to white text. I always wonder what threshold they used to leave half the pages with such a contrast ratio.

Someone bumped a four-year-old discussion in which @marcisbee.com proposed a logo for @vite.dev. Until then, vite was using the zap emoji as its logo. I completely forgot about this origin story. Not long after, @evanyou.me crafted the logo we all know now, inspired by Marcis' design.

I didn't know that! This is a flat bomibilla, I like these one over the normal ones. But I have and use a few others too. I should clean it a bit, disregard that ;)
