yes, i remembered after we finished recording and immediately texted jody to let him know! during the child abuse scandals of the 1980s the creators of sesame street realized it was sending the wrong message for adults not to believe children, so they made snuffleupagus real.

@kcarterjackson.bsky.social preached the joy of resistance as only she can when teaching us about the abolitionist movement, & Cathy Harris spoke about her service to the Merit Systems Protection Board prior to her illegal firing. And so many amazing people came out to listen, learn, and organize!

@shineslike.bsky.social gave a rousing defense of museums, i talked about the history wars and the resistance to the desegregation of history, @marthasjones.bsky.social delivered a moving talk on museums and community, Emily Kwong spoke about family history and hard conversations

Nathan Connolly gave a stirring reminder that no one is coming to rescue us from all this (we’re going to have to rescue ourselves) and @jfallows.bsky.social helped us understand how things got so bad—and how we might make them better

we went from sun-up to sun-down, starting with @natedimeo.bsky.social’s gorgeous readings, Marcia Chatelain on Black women of the freedom struggle, a captivating talk and performance from @amandaseales.bsky.social, and a brilliant defense of our public institutions from @tressiemcphd.bsky.social
