Was my first thought too except the NYT article ignores the Trump aspect completely. It’s like reporting on Bill Clinton running into an old co-worker at the airport and ending the story there.

They have no idea how to do anything real with the logistics so they want to dress up the present like some imaginary time and place where shit worked and hope that does the trick

NYT absolutely has published a lot of great work on Epstein. But it sat on info about its own reporter and Epstein that was sufficient to end the relationship with the reporter. It’s not about a favor to Epstein, it’s the favor to the paper itself
