Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry
The love/hate relationship with Westerns continues but this time leaning more towards the positive. I was intimidated by the size of it but I enjoyed the book almost the whole way through.

3.5/5, would maybe read again if it wasn't so thick

Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher was SO good! It's like a fairytale for adults littered with the comfort of olden tales even though unfamiliar. It made me tear up a couple of times due to the more harsh subjects (i.e. child loss and the authority/roles of women in society)

5/5, would read again!

I've been hunting down different sorts of westerns as research. Here is The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt, a duo of gunslingers hunting down a man.
It was an alright read, it def continued my love/hate relationship with westerns.

2.75/5 stars, wouldn't read again

Starting off strong with The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne.
The Shadow of the Gods is a fantasy with three POV shifts. It is clearly Norse-inspired but uses its own pantheon, lore and religious system without muddying Norse mythology.

I gave this book 5/5 stars! Can't wait to continue the saga
