Robin. From a portrait workshop back in 2019. i didn’t keep fire or cast this piece, so I only have photos. #fromlife #figurativesculpture #portraitsculpture

Tristan. Everso old. I made him in one of the bronze casting courses I did years ago, so this is strictly an amateur bronze, not a professional foundry one! #bronzesculpture #figurativesculpture

Roy - bronze version. I am not keen on the glossy patina: he looks a bit sweaty! The white wax original had a certain je-ne-sais-qua. Maybe one day I will get him repatinated 😀. #bronzesculpture #figurativesculpture

Ria. Another vintage photo from a portrait workshop in 2004. This is the unfired clay state. This one was fired and has been in my garden for decades developing a layer of grime. #fromlife #portraitsculpture #portraitsculpture

James. From a portrait workshop back in 2009. This is the clay state prior to firing. I'm never keen on the fire clay versions, should probably resolve that issue - maybe find out about glazes etc. #fromlife #portraitsculpture #figurativesculpture

Arthur...bronze. Another experiment. I always thought that one's work would unquestionably look better if cast in bronze. I have now learnt this is not always the case! #bronzesculpture #figurativesculpure #portraitsculpture

I had 5 heads cast in bronze resin, arrived yesterday. Interestingly for me, the only one I like as a sculpture is the only one which was from life. Will post next. The others (here) are all heads out of my own head. So I now want to do more portraiture from life and am signing up for a course!

I find it comical that this expression resembles my own anxiety about whether further work would make this head worse or not....
