With the way things go in the movie, you'd never guess this was its origin.
It's a full flip on its legacy that probably would have enraged the comic's creator were he not already long dead when the movie came out.

There are shades of this in the movie that are played as obvious satire, ala "Hail Caesar," but that obviously went way over younger me's head.

The whole time watching Corenswet, I thought, "Holy shit. This guy is like a Brendan Fraser clone. Damn, Fraser would've been a great Superman!"

I did enjoy doing that in BD2!! I thought, despite the job system-ness of it all, that that game was really well paced and reminded me of the jank of like FFIV era JRPGs.

Turns out if you can use Mario Paint Composer, you can get pretty much any sequencer to cooperate!

And getting my old ass Roland Fantom G6 to cooperate as a midi controller required a lot of weird workarounds, but by god I would not be stopped!

Man, that first one also has the issue of not telling you what the criteria for the highest rank are. You have to guess or use a guide.
Can't tell you how many times I was just a few KOs short of the mark after a half hour battle. Really demoralizing!

I really dug the characters and story here too. Fav design is Raphica but my fav to play as was Ardi and Qia, they just steamrolled everything!
