I'm making a first-person roguelike RPG with a physical dice system at its core. Wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4298130/Paper_Rogue/
God, indie dev is beautiful. You can create new worlds. New battles and universes. Or you can spend your Friday giving a cute mouse the face of eternal damnation. Guess which one I did today...

Hey folks, we need your help!
Our dev redesigned lighting in Paper Rogue. He's thrilled. I'm terrified.
Before: UE5 shadows, moody.
After: Flat ink, darkness creeps like a cartoon curtain.
Help us settle this battle!

Roguelikes exist because of DnD.
DnD exists because of dice. Video games took the dungeons, the permadeath, the loot. But turned dice into formulas. For 40 years we've been playing roguelikes without them! In Paper Rogue the dice are back. The genre finally remembers where it came from. #indiegame

Tried to write a fancy description for Paper Rogue.
Ended up with: kill, chop, loot, die.
Nailed it.

In Paper Rogue you have a physical die right in front of you. It affects everything: combat, traps, even your health. The idea was to recreate a tabletop experience. "It's like DnD even outside DnD," wrote one of my followers. For the same reason, all monsters are made from paper #indiegame #rpg
