Will no one speak for the unnamed boy who gets shot through the window in the beginning of “Stray Rounds”? I can still hear his mother’s screams ringing in my ear?

If that were the case, Cinderella & Jungle Book would also have flopped. Disney’s more artistically (and commercially) successful remakes (incl. Lilo & Stitch) don’t stray as far from the spirit of the original as Snow White. Plus Stitch has always been a merch juggernaut, even among recent films.

That was the same thing that brought me to Light in the Piazza, Guettel’s score from Floyd Collins. I’m so excited to finally see that next week.

Are we making fun of his weight or the fact that he abjectly lies about it with abandon? Everything that is part of The Lie deserves to be scorned.

I feel like most birds know how to bird better than humans know how to human. They’ve been doing it longer, at least. I say leave them be.

Jeff Hiller is an icon. He can have one line in something, and you’ll remember it the rest of your life. He was criminally overlooked by the Emmys for Somebody, Somewhere.

While we’re being completists, let’s not forget George & Ira Gershwin, Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II, Jerry Bock & Sheldon Harnick, Frank Loesser, Marvin Hamlisch & Edward Kleban, Stephen Sondheim, Jonathon Larson, Tom Kitt & Brian Yorkey, and Michael R. Jackson. Musicians all.

Beauty and the Beast was the only real competition that year. Both basically flawless films.

Every time I see one in real life, I’m convinced it’s a glitch in the Matrix.

I know the Oscars are broken, because The Wild Robot was clearly the best movie of the year.

Yes, it’s terribly staged and directed. But doesn’t Hooper also move the song earlier in the plot? Eponine’s despair isn’t as powerful until she knows how enthralled Marius is with Cosette even after they’ve been separated. It’s criminal how many things Banks had working against her.

Barks was great, but if this was your first exposure to the musical, I don’t think you come away understanding the generation that grew up with “On My Own” as their lovesick anthem.
