Sit with the fact that private unregulated firms are selecting embryos based not just on cancer polygenic risk scores, but also ones for 'intelligence'. Pronatalists are frequently using these services. It's definitely eugenic thinking, but the deep irony is that it literally doesn't 'work.'

The last year has proven how much mainstream media misunderstood what was happening on college campuses— almost certainly because of their fixation on a few elite privates. [Censorship accusation? University administrators are barring publication] www.nytimes.com/2025/10/17/b...

We're 10 months into this. A TV host is running the Defense Department, berating Generals about 'woke', and revealing state secrets in his text groups. ICE agents are throwing tear gas at babies, and kidnapping children. Where's Congress? #NoKings

My 80 year old mother (a lifelong registered Republican until 2018 and, by god, is not one for protesting) is making her voice heard on our small-town New England town green.

RFK fired the CDC official (w/decades of experience) leading the measles outbreak response. It's been decades since we've had such a large outbreak. And just to ensure they they can spread the measles outbreak even farther, they also fired the leadership for the center focused on immunization.

States are facing catastrophic SNAP cuts from the Big Beautiful Bill--North Carolina is saying they may shutter their SNAP program. The Bill cuts the budget to administer SNAP, charges states billions for making administrative mistakes, all while adding even more admin complexity to the program.

The growth in 'pick n choose' your vaccine reflects the deep individualism that underlies how we think about our health, as well as how to improve our collective health. @jenniferreich.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/09/30/o...

A Professor of *checks notes* German literature, at UC-Santa Cruz, has a few thoughts on the "radicals who dominate college campuses" and are "poisoning America.. When will we take our campuses back from the destructive radicals who now control them?" www.wsj.com/opinion/amer...

This is bananas. Florida State ranks 17th on their list—excellent free speech! Meanwhile, an actual student weighs in on how FL state law is censoring speech at Florida State.

RFK has repeatedly said that he's making changes to "increase trust in the CDC". His tenure so far has had the exact opposite impact.

Support for childhood vaccines remains high. The CNN stat is really misleading. Pew find that 88% of the US public think the benefits of measles vaccines outweighs any risks.
