I could almost understand someone who said that in 2016. I cannot fathom anyone saying that in 2024 who wasn't racist, sexist, wilfully ignorant, woefully uniformed, and/or insane.

I have this version on DVD. The scene with Ignorance and Want under the robes of Christmas Present is there. I remember because that was the first I saw that sequence and was old enough to appreciate it.

They didn't do those family members any favors either by not voting or by throwing away their vote on Jill Stein or some other third-party no-hoper. Don't even get me started on those who actually voted for Shitler 2.0, who stupidly thought he was the "peace" candidate.

Gee, I feel the same way about grown adults screeching "Genocide Joe" and "Killer Kamala" while arguing that their non-vote or third-party vote for Putin stooge Stein represented how "principled" and "anti-genocide" they were. Was even a single Gazan helped by this?

If you're willing to pay to see a movie in the theater or via a streaming service, why wouldn't you pay to read a book, whether print or digital? If you want entertainment, it's only fair to pay the person who creates it.

Someone (not me) nicknamed these folks "Gaza Groupies": self-righteous, short-sighted, and loudly performative. Their non-vote did nothing for Gazans, many of whom publicly stated a preference for Harris. Hence, they and we got Shitler 2.0. Too bad for Gaza and for us.

I'm going with misogyny. It's still easier for a black man than for a woman of any color to be elected POTUS, even if the alternative is a bigoted, treasonous monster. Will the US electorate ever grow up enough to elect a woman president? Hell if I know.
