The deal to end the shutdown was negotiated by Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., and Angus King, I-Maine, and gained approval from Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., and the White House, according to the sources. At least eight Democrats will provide “yes” votes in addition to the 52 Republicans who have been voting for a stopgap funding bill, these sources said.

I'm appalled, & contacted my senators earlier today to plead with them not to acquiesce to anything that doesn't include ACE premium subsidies. If they do this, what I want to know is would this assure it has to go back to the house? Jeffries has said this, but I don't know whether to trust him.

I just emailed both of my (dem) senators on this. Suggest others do the same. Write from your heart, but do it now. If you don't know what to write, I'll offer my quickly written message, and I put the text in ALT TEXT so you can just copy/paste if that helps you. This is time sensitive.
Message Subject: Please do not cave to GOP on shutdown without securing ACA premium subsidies IN ADVANCE I'm reading today that Jonathan Karl says a dem senator has told him there will be more than enough dems to vote to reopen the government tonight with only a promise of a vote on health care and nothing more. I don't know who these dems are, but please do your best to assure this does not happen, because a promise of a vote is nothing, and the hold out will have been in vain. People are realizing it is the GOP who is responsible for the shutdown, and we are so close to those who've been in denial realizing how their premiums are going to go up. Caving now, on the heels of massive wins at the ballot box, will send such a negative message. I doubt you are one of the ones who would vote to allow this, but please lobby your colleagues to make sure they understand that a GOP promise means nothing, and caving now is going to be like Lucy with the football--giving up at the last minute and losing. Caving now will not be viewed positively by the dems I'm talking to. Please do not give in without insuring the subsidies IN ADVANCE. The GOP won't approve the subsidies on their "promise of a vote," and you know that. Thanks for standing solid on so many issues. Don't let the reprobates win.
