I'm among the many (many!) Polygon people getting laid off today. I really really really loved getting to be a TV editor, and I hope to do it again soon (in some form; writing/editing/social/homepage/copy editing/what have you!). Not much else to say beyond: open for work and hire all my colleagues!

You work long enough in this business, you eventually get caught up in layoffs. Today I lost my job at Vulture, the best gig I’ve ever had. When I stop crying I know I’ll want to write again so please keep me in mind for freelance work or regular work or just general nice messages.

chelsea hired me as an intern and basically started my career. when I had to take two emergency weeks off due to my health, she supported me and helped me finish out my internship, which I've never forgotten. she's been a mentor and friend since, and has helped countless careers flourish
I'm still in shock and so so deeply angry about Vox Media's decision to sell Polygon. I am one of the over 20 people laid off today from the best damn website out there. I'm so proud of the place we built, and the workplace I helped shape. I'm sure I'll have more to say soon, but processing it now

I know this says something about the state of games media, but Polygon had a superb entertainment desk too!! We were tiny but mighty and we did some stories that I am super proud of and it's been an honor to work alongside them and apparently i cant tag them all bc im running out of characters but

Julia will never say this so I’ll say it for her: when I worked for Polygon, she was responsible for not just the biggest Polygon article, but the NUMBER 1 MOST CLICKED ARTICLE ON ALL OF VOX MEDIA. She was single-handedly paying all of our salaries. Hire Julia.
julia writes the best guides, something I say not only as a friend but as someone who is too dumb to play video games. her guides havecarried me through genshin impact/ff7 rebirth/tears of the kingdom/tons of stuff.

Along with just about everyone else at Polygon, I am now out of a job, ending over a decade at Vox Media for me. Working at Polygon was a wonderful experience, and I'm proud of the work we did there. I will be looking for work, as well as starting my own project(s) on the side. Stay tuned!
