@rcpsglasgow.bsky.social A helpful comparison of issues and concerns across the English and Scottish Bills which seek to legalise "assisted dying". SPPC has similar concerns.

Lengthy and important discussions on "organisational opt out" amendments. Setting aside the rights and wrongs of that, interesting to see how many MSPs assume that people currently have an absolute right to have their end of life preference about care setting met.

...than that in current GMC codes of practice. An amendment requiring that arrangements for the regulation of AD be in place before AD commences was voted down!

Well, in summary, if you are a person who believes that safeguards in the Bill should (and easily could) be strengthened, then this was a very disappointing session. None of the numerous amendments with such intent were passed. As it stands the defnition of coercion in the Bill will be weaker 1/
