Saw this cool looking Pokemon today. Google lens says it's a type of Fulgorid planthopper named Kalidasa

and the highlight was this gucchi girda appetizer. Gucchi (Kashmiri morrels) and shimeji mushrooms in a whey sauce with Girda bread. It was my first time trying both gucchi and girda and they were so so good. Girda uses poppy seeds as a garnish and it gives such a nice texture.

For desserts we had ordered a black carrot toffee pudding (imagine a cake made out of gajar ka halwa) and this caramalized guava with chilli ice cream. Both exceeded our expectations. There was a third complimentary dessert courtesy chits who was taking care of us.

Prawn malai curry with rice was our main course. It somehow ends up being both a fine dining dish and a comfort food at the same time. Surprisingly light despite being rich.

Charred carrots were good too but sadly it didn't captivate us completely as we would expect from every Bombay Canteen dish

Cauliflower hummus with a gondhoraj lemon khakra was a pleasent surprise.

Tandoor + Octopus already sounds good but what made it even better was the addition of pomelo to this dish

Then came this morning glory and black rice salad. Its one of the best salads I have ever had. The black rice was cronchy, it was my first time having black rice like that.

We started with a shakerato and a cocomelon. Both were good but the cocomelon despite being simple (coconut water + japanese melon) kept getting better with every sip.

Happened to be in Mumbai so went to The Bombay Canteen and as always the dishes blew us away.

Foccacia Fail. Tried baking for the first time and just like cooking I decided to wing it, didn't bother with the measurements and ended up with this. It didn't taste bad but it was too dry for a foccacia.

Found this old photo of the souvenirs I collected on my last trip to Kerala and couldn't help but share.

I especially love those red sandalwood seeds.

Turned some red grapes into kefir soda. Love the bright pink colour.

My watermelon kefir ended up being a fail (overfermented during the secondary fermentation and ended up tasting like rotten 🍉 ) but green grape🍇 and coffee☕ kefir turned out nice.

If you are bored & looking for a new hobby try making water kefir sodas. I just made these 2 (1st one is lime & ginger with blue tea for colour and the 2nd one is pineapple flavoured) it only took 3 days & this is my first time fermenting anything. #fermentation
Makes you feel like an alchemist ⚗️

Saw a barn owl today. Shitty photo but it was a great reminder that adding birds to your life list feels like catching pokemons.

I had no idea that people contributed to open source with bigoted ulterior motives. A great side effect of the Rust community being accepting and supportive of marginalized people is that bigots like this guy out themselves much quicker than other communities.

I have never come across a youtube comment section like this. The comments are as haunting yet hopeful just like the music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f26KyGr6y8w
When I watched Beserk I knew I was watching the best thing ever but I had no idea Miura's writing had this kind of an impact.
