As you know the problem is not the tax rates which apply - it's the ability of 'wealth management' to minimise tax payment. I'd like to see the effective tax 'take' by income bands

Of course tax credits are benefitting corporations much further up the pay scale too and allowing them to pay lower wages with taxpayers baling them out for rest. One of the mistakes the right makes is not to acknowledge this and be grateful for the free public money to give to shareholders.

Agreed - I record for about an hour most days and it does see the arrival of migrants etc just not always the right ones

What I don't understand is why it is the City making the money. Why don't regional energy companies go upstream? Why isn't there an opportunity for a new enterprise to just focus on this. Is it regulation? It doesn't need to be Government does it?
