New stick, new tape. This one has a very grippy surface around the handle, so I'm going to try that area without tape for a game and see how it goes.

She has no idea what a hockey goalie is. She'll never have to worry about defending against a breakaway. She'll never have to decide if she needs to drop into VH/RVH.

Getting to know this dog through hour long visits at the rescue, I thought it'd be weeks for her to open up once I brought her home.
It's been one week, and the transformation has been phenomenal. We have a long way to go, but people passed over her for a year, and she just needed a stable home.

A key thing to start directing a guess between Celtic vs Nordic knotwork is Celtic knotwork tends to have a very mathematic and geometric basis, and Nordic is more free form, which is why you get things ending in caps similar to the upper left or right of the knot, vs:

They say it takes 3 days for a new dog and owner to decompress after being adopted. I've had a very emotional 36 hours after getting this lady home. It is going pretty great, all things considered, but it's been a lot.
Anyone have any stories of the first 3 days with their dogs? Especially rescues?

Saw the dog again today. A friend brought her dog along for some co-walking to help her feel relaxed.
Some amazing progress with working away that fear. By the end, she was hopping up on both of us for pets!
It is so nice to see her fully relaxing and opening up.

I drove on the 101, a stretch of asphalt forsaken by god and too cruel to be in hell, twice in the past two days for my mother who was visiting, so no one can say I'm not her best daughter.
The Dodgers vs Giants game was fun though.

My body extremely hates that this was my week, where at most I did a lot of walking, and then I come back and end the day with an hour of hockey goaltending. I am in pain town now.

Anyway, so I spent this past week on a cruise ship where side effects from my medication meant I stopped digesting food for the first half and vomited repeatedly. Then I came home to immediately do a placement session for a hockey league where they ran me through goalie drills and then scrimmages.
