The candidate will advance innovation by developing an externally funded research program applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to infectious disease biology and public health challenges; foster collaboration building interdisciplinary projects across the University and Wadsworth.

This position is intended to strengthen the University at Albany's leadership in computational biomedical sciences by recruiting a faculty member whose work bridges artificial intelligence innovation and infectious disease research.

The Wadsworth Center is the research and clinical diagnostics arm of the Department of Health. We are effectively a large microbiology and infectious disease department that you would find at any University.

The Biomedical Sciences Department is unique. Most of its faculty (me included) have primary appointments at the Wadsworth Center, NYSDOH. The ideal candidate will work alongside those of us at the Wadsworth Center.
