Instead, we're choosing to leave resources idle (unemployed workers, crumbling bridges) while inflating asset prices for people who own the means of production.
So yes, let's skip the pretense.

But here's the thing: we could just issue everyone a job guarantee, fund universal healthcare, rebuild infrastructure, AND let companies do R&D. The constraint isn't money—it's real resources and political will.

Meanwhile, they'll hand-wring about "paying for it" by cutting programs or raising taxes on workers—deleting more dollars from households that actually spend into the real economy.
