1. I re-ran python3 -m src.build.build_integrate (per AGENTS.md, this automatically triggers cli.js info and cli.js calendar). It now fails because our global replacement of socket.socket forces even asyncio 's internal socketpair() fallback to use the bridged socket, which only knows how to act as an outbound TCP client. Result: OSError: [Errno 58] Not supported, the coroutine installer never finishes, and the build exits non-zero-so we're currently violating the "build + smoke tests must pass" rule.
2. The root cause is that the patch replaces every socket, not just outbound TCP clients. We need a hybrid shim:

Keep the original socket class for anything except AF_INET/AF_INET6 stream clients (e.g., anything that binds, listens, uses socketpair, UNIX sockets, UDP, etc.).
Only return the bridged implementation when we actually see a client connect request; everything else delegates straight to the real socket implementation.
3. Once we have that selective shim, we can safely install it at CLI start (before asyncio.run spins up), so ensure_socket_bridge_installed() runs in a plain synchronous context and we stay within AGENTS policy.
Next actions:
Implement the hybrid socket.socket wrapper in bridge/socket_bridge.py, re-enable the CLI-startup install, and ensure it no longer intercepts non-TCP sockets.
Rebuild via python3 -m src.build.build_integrate and confirm the mandatory smoke tests pass.
Re-test cli.js query --gp "SELECT 1".
