In 1981 I was a 20 year old lost soul who just moved to San Francisco. I was chasing girls but too immature to have a relationship with a woman. When I saw The Aviator’s wife I felt like I saw myself on screen for the first time. I needed that movie at that time.

I was talking about both series as a whole. I’m not dissing them, but tastes change. Like I said, I used to love Eric Roehmer films but now I don’t.

No insult meant for either series of movies, they just don’t resonate like they did a loooong time ago. In my early twenties I loved Eric Roehmer films. I tried watching one recently and quickly lost interest. Oh well!

All the actors were great and the film looked great, but….parts of the story were ridiculous. The purse thief and his turn into the woods were not good storytelling.
