Personally I like the idea of having the option to simul-post to Bluesky and then in the Smoke Screen UI collate both Bluesky replies and Smoke Signal specific comments into a single list

I would expect the Smoke Signal comments to be fully separate from Bluesky and any sort of mirroring would be implemented separately and optionally. imo tying it back to Bluesky automatically or reusing their comments makes it feel like Bluesky is the default rather than being a separate product

I’m now endlessly curious what the original was but the rewrite was great!

I don’t doubt it! Hopefully I’ll have something to share out soon so everyone can pick apart all the issues 😁

Just spent all weekend working on this, can confirm. 🥲
@ngerakines.me’s tangled.org/@smokesignal... was a huge help though.

Is this the first time an atproto article posted to HN has majority positive comments? Definitely reflects the quality of the article regardless, great read!

That’s an impressively consistent fill! What kind of pen did you use?

Ever since I read the trip log from Hundred Rabbits I've been curious to see Princess Louisa Inlet up in that direction. Jealous of your sailing adventures!

Very cool! Kind of looks like a linocut at first glance. Could probably make some interesting prints with it

Hunky Dory underrated imo

I think I made it through the intro of 2 before deciding I don’t have time for this

It's @bylr.info's github.com/abey79/vpype.... I explored a few options at first but this did a great job and was by far the easiest. I wish it were possible to have a `line` mode that did vertical lines as well though since the `snake` pattern is a bit obvious on the large patches.

I don't know why but having a free games only Epic account immediately struck me as a great idea. I can't come up with any reason that'd be useful but it just feels right

A solid 5 hours or so of actual plotting, not counting all the prep time. I also experimented with a border on a previous test print but didn’t really like it overall.
