On December 5, the U.S. Secretary of the Navy announced that Damen, had been chosen in a competitive process to design the new Landing Ship Medium vessels (35 ships). The core of the Dutch group’s proposal is the LST-100 design. Construction of the first ship is expected to begin in 2026.
