60+ Learning to be old 🤯
@over60m.bsky.social
I'm not here for politics but for movies, art & humor. If those are the focus of your acct I'll probably follow. I'll likely also post about the mindf*ck of getting older.
Saw it in '87 when first released when also read the book in a gay literature class at San Francisco State University. Don't remember any of it.

Sad, though, that they're now gone. I had to Google Taiyaki. Oh my, I would definitely have visited there regularly too!

Thank you for the details in the alt text. I would have definitely gone to the arcade. As a boy I loved pinball games (I don't know if they had them in this arcade) and when video games came in I was uninterested. But I love all those era toys. And the cake shop too. I would have visited regularly.

I loved it as a kid on its original broadcast. I knew quality early on.

D. The others are well done but we see those types of scene by everyone. D stands out as unique and tells more of a story. Love it!

This was must-see TV in San Francisco in the '80s. Most fun was watching it at a bar with all the screaming queens. 🤣🤣❤️❤️

I looooooved this movie when first released into the cine. Lily Taylor and Vincent D'Onofrio are fabulous. And now that you mentioned her name, I recall that Judith Malina was absolutely brilliant. (Stole every scene?)

I love the yellow Formica kitchen cabinets (but I haaaaate that corrugated ceiling. The one thing I'd change.) 👍🏠

This was so fun. All we neighborhood kids would take it up to the end of the street and ride it down the sidewalk to about my house ten houses down. Not a steep hill, barely sufficient grade for gravity to build any momentum. A "Flexy."

?? Is that a quote from a movie? 🤔

Those first two before Halloween are pretty terrific.

This film is extra glorious on the big screen.

Beautiful light. And she's stunning. ❤️

Absolutely stunning. (Incl the closer-up version in your pinned post). Bravo to you, and to him just for being.

Beautiful portrait. Lighting wonderful. (I also love his hat). I live not far from Folsom!

*Envy* I desperately want to abandon overheated-summer California. One idea is Maine, because I'd also love to visit & explore Atlantic Canada & QC.

I met her just before the movie came out. Sweetest gal you'd ever want to meet.

💯 that machine whirring as it rotates around her with those clunking sounds as Regan winces gave 13 year old me in 1973 all kinds of fear.
