I told a colleague "I am not my cancer. I'm still me, the same person you've known for years".
I hated being defined by cancer. It really helps to find things, no matter how small, that give you a boost, that brighten your day.

Me neither, people who have cancer know how hellish it is.

I'm sorry. Cancer just sucks, and it gets in the way of so many things. I hope your new treatment goes well.

Finding people who truly understand what you're going through makes such a huge difference.
