From the stage to the lobby, the message was clear: Maryland’s strength lies in its people and its diversity.

ONS was proud to be part of today’s conversations about connection, collaboration, and the role of LGBTQIA+ professionals in shaping public service that endures.

Governor Wes Moore reminded everyone that attacks on the federal workforce are attacks on Marylanders, and that defending public service defends the state’s future.

Restrictions on healthcare access for servicemembers and their families threaten morale, retention, and long-term readiness.

ONS continues to highlight how health and stability are inseparable from mission effectiveness.

Several amendments merit close attention: limits on medical care, restrictions on education and training programs, and the recent proposal to ban Pride flags from being flown on DoD installations.

We will continue to track how these provisions could affect readiness, morale, and trust.

This version includes provisions that have raised concerns about readiness, cohesion, and the long-term strength of the all-volunteer force.
