The wonder of geoscience is the range of aspects - covers all the trad sciences - biology, physics, chemistry, plus environment, Earth systems etc etc etc lab skills, field skills...

There's bound to be some fieldwork that not everyone can access if they have low mobility, and e.g. using petrological microscopes is a challenge if someone is colour blind but it isn't "one size fits all" and the range of possibilities increases all the time. Find and explore your niche!

Learning and working in geology I found the art education in my background pretty useful.... all those field sketches for starters... then there is drawing specimens... fossils, rocks, minerals...

I "cut my teeth" on planning OUGS field trips while I was still an OU student... just find a leaflet/guide to local geology, sort out parking etc, and go for it! My first one was a couple of hours around Meldon Quarry before our Branch AGM, the last was a week in Fuerteventura! Have fun!!

There might just be a connection there!
