A friend asked about dream interpretation, which inspired me to see if the dream dictionary that I had as a teenage occultist is still in print. Not only does Amazon still carry the same bright purple edition, you can also get some bonus marriage drama!
An Amazon review by "Monday's Destiny" that reads: Fourteen years ago I had this book, and actually... "I lived by it," dream by dream. Because I'm a dreamer, and my dreams always come true. Believe this: I actually slept with my dream book, therefore, when I got married my husband made me get rid of it. I never stop dreaming. My husband not knowing...I tried several other dream books to interpret my dreams. Then I found this dream book, which is: the Zolar's Encyclopedia and Dictionary of Dreams by Zolar Entertainment, and I ordered it. As of today, I'm living proof the ZEDOD is the most accurate dream reference book to have for one's self.

3–0 ballgame with the Reds in front of the Royals as we go to the top half of the fifth inning, Castellanos to lead things off. Jim Day's gonna be taking us the rest of the way through this game as Holland takes over on the mound. Um, I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed of. If I have hurt anyone out there, I can't tell you how much I say from the bottom of my heart, I'm so very, very sorry. I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith—as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a home run, and so that'll make it a 4–0 ballgame. I don't know if I'm gonna be putting on this headset again. I don't know if it's gonna be for the Reds, I don't know if it's gonna be for my bosses at Fox. I want to apologize for the people who sign my paycheck—for the Reds, for Fox Sports Ohio, for the people I work with, for anybody that I've offended here tonight. I can't begin to tell you how deeply sorry I am. That is not who I am. It never has been. And I'd like to think maybe I could have some people that could back that up. I am very, very sorry, and I beg for your forgiveness. Jim Day will take you the rest of the way home.

I loved this article about why the trolley problem (not the situation the problem describes, but the thought experiment called "the trolley problem") makes people less caring and sloppier thinkers.

With philosophical hypotheticals, you’re supposed to set aside the question of why things are the way they are, and just accept that the choices are the choices. That’s exactly what we should never do, though: in order to assign moral responsibility for a particular set of bad outcomes, you need to understand who had agency in causing things to be the way they are. In the case of a trolley accident, probably the least important question is what the person who was frantically trying to stop the trolley should have done, since all of their options are bad and they will be improvising. We should spend far more time inquiring into the trolley company’s lackadaisical attitude to safety precautions, and whether it’s morally justified to cut down on voluntary brake inspections in order to decrease operating costs and maximize quarterly profits. It sounds as if we’re “arguing with the hypothetical,” of course, which you’re never supposed to do.

The city I live in has an interactive map of all municipal-owned trees and each of them has a dollar value attached. It strikes me as so strange, like are these trees on the market? Why talk about the "worth" of a tree in this way at all?

Years ago, a friend texted me saying that the narrator of "Oblivion" annoyed him, and I didn't know at the time whether he meant the game or the David Foster Wallace story. So I made this, which I recently rediscovered and now share with you
