Illustrator, Staff Artist at Chaosium Inc. Only art, RPG's, Boardgames, and other positive stuff. No AI.
It's about 7-10 years for me to buy a new one. I would love to use them longer, but the capitalists design their stuff so that it eventually will become too slow to use.

That Elmore cover sold SOOOOO many games. I idea I have got is that they never really understood the value of their artists and let them go.

But how much time the billionaires actually spend on those boats? I was them, all of my time, but really, it must be just one of the toys they buy, using once for a while.

Our forthcoming Lands of #RuneQuest: Sartar book has a section on Creating Duck Adventurers, with art by Ossi Hiekkala @ossihiekkala.bsky.social. There's also more Duck art coming by Mark Smiley. Ducks, Ducks, and More Ducks.

That's what I always think when I see that piece. Fantasy swords are almost always ridiculous, but this one is the top one.

Way better. I was just a kid when my father used to play this song he had taped from radio. Of all the songs on that tape or any other this one fashinated me, even though I couldn't understand what she sang. This song is a time machine for me.

Of course YGWV, but Sartarites are civilized people, not barbarians (though Lunars might have a different opinion).

Yuck... Makes me sick to think about that.

That's perfectly fair enough. I have the dvd.

Weird. In one of his books he spend pages and pages to describe gay sex in detail, so I wouldn't have expected him to turn out as a transphobe, but what do I know...

I absolutely love Chinatown, so I'll give it a pass as it was done before he did those things he did. But everything after that, fuck him, not watching.

Gaiman, he was a disappointment to say the least. He seemed one of the good guys. PoS.

I believe many actually work as an employee, but certainly freelancing must be very common too.

Freelancing is not easy. And if you are struggling, it does not mean you are not a pro. I have managed to make my living for 20 years, but there have been good and bad years.

- I actually have a "studio job", but I think these days it mostly means computer game studio job.
- You don't make great living by drawing fanart. It's a ok for practice though.
- Your portfolio should be showing the stuff you want to do or what job you are applying. Only few best pieces.

To be honest, I just posted this so to say my piece. I think that post was for aspiring artists, not pros.
- I draw every day, because it's my job. I don't feel a need to do it every day.
- If you cannot take a gig, you try to give it to the colleagues you trust. It's a win-win for everyone.

Just thinking these important things while I work.

I can understand some freak prince doing that but even an ordinary nobody is sporting some batshit crazy weirdness with flowing whatevers.

You couldn't go to a side street without some sleazy fellow with scissors saying "Hello my dear, would you like to have a few more spikes on your shoulders? Or if 10 arm lengths of non-sensical silk ribbons flowing behind you is your thing, I got you covered!"
