And that's about as much as I've got for now. I like where this is going so I'll work some more on the idea.

And then there's the Order of the Crown, who believe the Emperor is a vessel for a new Spirit, the Crown.

These fanatics began as a branch of the Vanguard who seek means to elevate the Emperor to divine status, even through dark and terrible rituals.

Some claim there is the Seventh Spirit, the Vile, who opposes the other Six in ideals. The Vile corrupts and defiles, causing pain and misery.

While the priests of the Six Spirits have judged them as heretics, those who follow the Vile claim they do good through necessary means.

There are six holy Spirits, which all the worshipped gods are merely vessels for (which still make them holy, to be sure):

• the Artisan
• the Champion
• the Wild
• the Sage
• the Kind
• the Joy

The vessels may channel the Spirits differently, but the worship of the Six is supposedly the purest

For example, the Ilwyn monarchy of the Woodland has venerated the Woodland Mother for centuries.

The priests of the Spirits argue that, while she is holy, the Mother is actually a vessel for the Wild Spirit, shared by other vessels.
